Polygons on the current Map Editor can be edited manually within the Situm Platform. To access the polygon editor simply follow the next steps:
- Access the Map Editor
- Click on the “Basemap” option

Select a Polygon #
By clicking on any of the available Polygons you will be able to select it and give it various traits. You can also select multiple polygons by simply clicking the ones you wish to edit.

Polygon Creation #
New polygons can be created on the editor, allowing you to add new parts of the building. To create a new polygon follow the next steps:
- Click on the “Draw” option

- Create the form of the polygon by marking various points on the outline. When the shape of the polygon is finished, tap enter or right click to finish creating it. You can also tap ESC to cancel the polygon creation.

- Use the 90º snapping tool by tapping Ctrl, by doing this the following angles from the initial point will be 90º, allowing you to create different forms.

Polygon Features #
When selecting one or various polygons, a few characteristics can be customized:
- Category: Define a category for your building’s polygons. Create as many categories needed, one for each type of polygon; roads, hallways, stores, bathrooms, these are just a few examples of the most common ones. Whenever you create a category, a “Style” with that name will appear on the “Styles” tab. By changing the properties on a “Style”you will affect every polygon that has the category attached to it

- Extrusion Height: Give height to a polygon, this can be used to create perspective on the map to certain elements.

- Margin: Defines the borders of the selected polygon, by increasing the value the polygon will become smaller and the space between polygons will be more noticeable. By decreasing the “Margin” value the polygon will expand itself, making the previously mentioned space between polygons less noticeable.

- Fill Color: Change the color of any given polygon by using any of the three color models available (RGB, HSL & HEX), by inputing the color code on the selector the polygon will change it’s color automatically.

- Fill Opacity: Adjust the opacity on any give polygon to create a “see trough” or “solid” feature on the map. Setting the opacity to the minimum level will make the polygon completely invisible.

- Stroke Color: Change the color of the outline on any polygon. By default the stroke color is equal to the fill color.

- Stroke Width: Adjust the width of the stroke lines on a polygon.

- Associated POI: Link a specific POI to a polygon so that when the polygon is hovered at with the cursor it is highlighted from the rest.
