Situm Mapping Tool is an Android application developed by Situm that will allow you to configure & test Situm in your venues. In the following video you can see a demo of its usage for testing Situm wayfinding in a building:
Download App and requirements #
Please make sure that your smartphone complies with the sensor requirements.
You can download Situm Mapping Tool from Google Play Store at the following link. Alternatively, you may find it on Google Play by typing “Situm Mapping Tool” in the search bar.
If you cannot find the app in the Google Play Store it may be because your device does not have one of the required sensors (Wifi, BLE & Gyro Sensor). Please contact support@situm.com.
Main functionalities #
Visualize your building cartography #
Situm Mapping Tool allows you to explore & visualize all your cartography data, including:
- Buildings. You may see all your buildings on top of a world map (1), with a handy search bar to select any of them.
- Floorplans. You will be able to visualize all the floorplans of every building (2), for all the floors.
- Points of Interest. On top of each floorplan, Situm Mapping Tool displays all the POIs (2), each one with a different icon depending on its category.
- Geofences. Finally, you will be able to view all the geofences that you have defined in your building (3).
Calibrate your building #
Situm Mapping Tool allows you to set up Situm positioning in your building. You will just need to perform a simple calibration step: (1) walk around your building pinpointing your location from time to time, and Situm Mapping Tool will build all the signal maps for you (2). After that, Situm positioning will be up & running.
Test Situm positioning and wayfinding #
Finally, (1) you will be able to test the Situm indoor and outdoor positioning and accuracy. On top of that, (2) you will be able to test the navigation paths that you have configured for your building, by computing routes from point A to B and receiving turn-by-turn instructions (text and voice) while you move around your building.
iOS version #
We offer a private beta version for iOS, with limited functionality, that can be downloaded from TestFlight. The iOS version does not allow you to calibrate your building, because iOS does not allow WiFi network scanning (only BLE). To calibrate your building, you should use the Android version, with which you can calibrate both WiFi & BLE at once. However, the iOS version is useful to test positioning & wayfinding, as well as cartography visualization, in iOS.
If you want to install Situm Mapping Tool for iOS, please follow these instructions:
- Make sure that your iOS device is compatible with Situm.
