Corepart adds Situm indoor positioning to its solutions portfolio

As a new Situm partner, the Swedish company Corepart Security incorporates our indoor geolocation technology to improve its security solutions.

Self-described as “a cutting-edge security company”, Corepart develops state-of-the-art technology focused on the security sector. The agreement with Situm allows them to go one step further and introduce geolocation as an added value to their products and solutions.

The latest technological advances to provide the best security solutions

Implementing a security system in any kind of building, regardless of industry, is a sensitive issue that requires the utmost attention to detail and state-of-the-art technology to prevent accidents and to react better to incidents.

This is why Corepart sees indoor geolocation as an opportunity to make its security services the most competitive and effective in the market.

Safer and more efficient workers thanks to indoor positioning

Following Corepart’s mission to offer personalised services according to the needs of each of its clients, the versatility of Situm’s indoor geolocation, which allows solutions and tools to be adapted to each case, was a fundamental aspect in the selection of its geolocation supplier.

Situm MRM, our team management platform, is the foundation that enables Corepart to develop its customised solutions. By implementing indoor positioning, we achieve:

  • Effective work teams management. We use the smartphones of each employee, so they don’t need extra hardware. Indoor positioning allows knowing where they are in the facility to redistribute or assign tasks, avoid duplication, and manage work effectively.
  • Geolocated alarms. Despite having security guards and other resources in place, incidents can still occur. Geolocated alarms increase worker safety and allow incidents to be reported in real-time, including the exact location where the alert was issued.

The first success story of this union is an improvement in the safety of workers in a health centre through geolocated alarms.

First success story: a safer health centre for workers and patients thanks to geolocated alarms

The first project between Corepart and Situm is to implement a security system for orderlies at a medical centre in Sweden. Corepart has decided that Situm’s indoor geolocation is essential to ensure that these workers have all the necessary tools at their disposal. In this way, patients will also be better protected if those who look after them can prevent and deal with as many incidents as possible.

As a medical centre is a complex building, with several floors, many rooms, wards and consulting rooms, and workers in constant movement, Situm’s indoor geolocation technology was undoubtedly the best option. Our experience in both healthcare and security sectors, as well as Corepart’s needs to improve their product, endorsed using indoor positioning technology in this case.

Using the smartphones that workers always carry with them, they can be geolocated anytime, anywhere, without running into blind spots anywhere on the perimeter, even outdoors.

Thus, in the event of an emergency, these devices serve as alarm transmitters/receivers, allowing:

  • Issuing an alarm with a simple movement or tap on the phone without activating the screen or wasting time looking for the right app or button.
  • Automatic geolocation of the worker from their device. When they trigger the alarm, the rest of the team will see exactly where the worker is in the building to come to their aid.

Through this agreement with Situm, Corepart has been able to easily implement a state-of-the-art security system for the medical centre’s team of orderlies, who now have an essential tool in their pocket.
