PBS incorporates Situm’s indoor and outdoor geolocation technology to improve the facility management services of the consultancy firm’s clients in different countries around the African continent. The first success story is the geolocation-based surveillance management of a huge natural space with several buildings that offers tourism experiences in South Africa.
PBS assists organisations achieve their objectives by collecting and managing the necessary information. They implement and integrate effective systems that optimise processes with state-of-the-art technology. In addition, they help managers of organisations to make the right decisions for the development of their projects.
In its quest for continuous improvement of the services the offer, PBS relies on Situm’s indoor and outdoor geolocation technology. This new partner has already incorporated our solution into its systems to improve the effectiveness of facility management services, improve communication and therefore, also increase the productivity of the service.
Although PBS operates in several industries, from retail (with a presence in shopping centres, for example) to hospitals, the first projects together with Situm relate to security. Specifically, the first success story involves a security team of around 20 guards in a complex environment, with outdoor and indoor spaces and a range of surveillance activities to be managed as efficiently as possible thanks to geolocation.
Experience tourism in a safer environment thanks to geolocation
The agreement between Situm and PBS is now materialised in an extensive territory that offers different tourist experiences and needs the best physical surveillance system for the correct development of all the activities that it houses in its different spaces.
This place offers a complete package of experience tourism, with family-run restaurants, shops selling local products and handicrafts, and a group of cottages that make up the complex in a privileged natural environment.
The services provided by PBS comprise 20 security guards who make rounds throughout the site to ensure the smooth running of all these activities, both commercial and tourist. From guarding the perimeter to controlling the flow of visitors or key points such as entrances or exits, buildings where sensitive equipment is located, etc.
In this sense, Situm’s tools for managing the workforce through its MRM platform are helping to increase the efficiency of the security service:
- Control and management of guard rounds.
- Set up and management of the trajectories to be taken around the premises, both in outdoor areas and inside the buildings.
- Availability of geolocated alarms, if a guard suffers an accident or encounters an altercation anywhere on the perimeter.
- Patrol reports. Through the reports extracted from the collection of geolocated data in real-time, an exhaustive analysis of the service can be carried out to adjust it and increase its efficiency.

With the implementation of geo surveillance powered by Situm technology, PBS aims to offer the best physical security systems by providing guards with management, control, and security tools for greater efficiency in the development of services.
