Thanks to this grant, Situm will be able to scale up its indoor positioning technology and build a product to improve security management and optimize internal processes both indoors and outdoors.
By resolution of 11 November 2019, the director of GAIN, the Galician Agency for Innovation, with the support of Vicepresidencia Segunda e Consellería de Economía, Empresa e Innovación from the Xunta de Galicia, granted Situm the subsidy by virtue of the resolution of 3 September 2019, which calls for the granting of subsidies for the promotion of Galician participation in the framework program of research and innovation of the European Union (Horizon 2020), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (Feder) within the operational program Feder Galicia 2014-2020 (DOG No. 173, 12 September):
For the granting of the subsidy to Situm, AGN valued different aspects:
– The usefulness of Situm’s indoor positioning technology for Security applications, whose platform is at the forefront of the state of the art. Using WiFi, low energy Bluetooth, magnetic fields and other sensors, Situm provides indoor location with high precision while minimizing implementation costs thanks to the minimum investment required in installation or infrastructure.
– The wide acceptance of its technology, implemented in more than 3,000 buildings in 30 countries around the world.
– Its experience accumulated through the use of its technology by several of the world’s leading security companies, and thanks to which Situm identified a great opportunity to build a product to improve security management and optimize internal processes both indoors and outdoors.
The MoreTrack project is expanding Situm’s current indoor positioning technology to prepare an intelligent mobile resource management platform capable of planning and monitoring security work in real time, contributing greatly to safer operations at lower costs.
