Implementing Situm’s main functionalities in apps is easy with our SDKs, fully flexible and customisable tools for integrating indoor positioning and guidance, mapping, and analytics.
To the list of native and hybrid platforms with which our WYF module is compatible (Android, iOS, React Native and Capacitor) we have now added Flutter.
Full compatibility between Android and iOS apps
Originally developed by Google to create its own applications, Flutter is an open-source framework whose use has already spread to the entire market. It is a powerful platform that facilitates compatibility when developing apps for Android and iOS devices. Flutter provides a robust interface for accessing each platform’s native SDKs and APIs, allowing you to program a single app that works on both operating systems without duplicating efforts.
In Situm’s case, app development must consider the key aspects of our technology: not only powerful and accurate positioning but also the visualization of maps and points of interest.
Developers looking to integrate indoor (and outdoor) geolocation into their apps now have Situm’s WYF plugin for Flutter at their disposal, with which they can:
- Load a map in the app with elements such as the individual floors, and points of interest in different formats (on the map, in a directory with search filters, etc.).
- Locate the user at any point in the building, including outdoor areas if necessary.
- Offer step-by-step navigation on the map to the destination, also including text and/or voice directions, and the estimated time of arrival.
- Interact with Flutter and native widgets in your app.
You can now access the Situm plugin for Flutter and develop your indoor location and navigation apps on this platform. If you have any questions about the process, don’t hesitate to contact us!
