Situm’s Open Source projects
If you are reading this, you are probably interested in contributing to Situm’s Open Source projects. First of all, we’d like to thank you for choosing Situm as your indoor & outdoor geolocation provider, but also for considering making a contribution. We believe that open source software is good for the industry, and we like to push it forward. By being open and freely available, open source enables and encourages collaboration and the development of technology, improving the knowledge for the parties.
Contributing to Situm’s OS projects is easy, but requires to comply with the following requirements in order to ensure a certain quality in our software and the way that we work:
– Follow the technical guidelines & recommendations (usually described in a contributing.md file within the project’s repository).
– Sign a Contributor License Agreement (CLA).
The CLA is an agreement between you and Situm aimed to clarify the intellectual property rights. In this regard, the CLA must be signed by each Contributor indicating the acceptance to the license terms, which regulate your rights to retain the ownership of your contributions in the code submitted while granting us the necessary legal rights to use such contributions.
If you want to be a Contributor, please send us an email at support@situm.com and we’ll send you the CLA. Please include as many details as you can, such as your name, if you act on behalf of an organization/corporation, what you are using Situm for, why you want to contribute and to which projects, etc.
Thanks a lot and welcome to Situm!
