The startup closes a funding round of three million. Its clients include Ferrovial, Acciona, and QuirónSalud, who are interested in indoor GPS technology.
Cinco Días, El País’ economic section, reports on the investment in Situm’s indoor GPS by leading companies in their sectors, such as Prosegur, Amadeus, and Swanlaab.
International growth
These new shareholders will inject about three million euros to “accelerate their growth and undertake their international expansion plan.” Prosegur, Amadeus, and Swanlaab Venture will also join Unirisco, already present in the capital of the startup. Finally, we can also find Xesgalicia, dependent on the Department of Economy of the Xunta de Galicia. However, as the article points out, “the founding partners maintain control of the company.”
Locating people and valuables
Reporter Marimar Jiménez also highlights some of the many applications of Situm’s indoor GPS. First of all, we can see the guidance of people: in hospitals, shopping centres, or airports, among others. But this is not all, as companies also can know what is happening inside their factories or large buildings in general. “Service companies such as Acciona or Ferrovial are using their technology to locate their key personnel and ensure the effective execution of a task.”
